Builder on the Scaffolding

Great Western Railway Canopy

The Severn Valley Railway enlisted Chance Construction Ltd to restore the original Great Western Railway canopy at Bewdley Station. As a prominent feature of the station, only high-quality materials were selected for the projected. To facilitate safe access, two operational lines on either side of the central platform were temporarily closed to allow scaffolding to be erected.

The original roof covering of the canopy was carefully removed and recycled. Upon inspection, significant corrosion was discovered in the structure, requiring welding repairs. Once these were completed, the entire roof frame underwent sandblasting and painting to ensure longevity.

New custom dual-colour curved sheets were installed alongside timber joinery, with all roof fixings precisely aligned, including 7,000 rivets. Despite the need for additional repairs, the project was successfully completed within a tight timeframe.

This comprehensive restoration involved every stage, from sandblasting the iron canopy structure to fitting custom curved corrugated tin sheets and timber joinery with iron guttering. The result was a high-quality finish that exceeded expectations, leaving the client highly satisfied.

1 Comberton Place – Renovation

Chance Construction Ltd carried out a comprehensive renovation of a building owned by Wyre Forest District Council. The work included replacing windows, making internal modifications, upgrading the heating system, refurbishing bathrooms and installing new roofing and flooring, transforming the space into a fully functional modern office.

This project presented unique challenges due to the building's large size and its location, with active businesses operating in the units below.

From initial planning to final completion, Chance Construction Ltd managed every aspect of the renovation, making adjustments as needed to accommodate the client's requirements.

With the support of our trusted suppliers and skilled tradespeople, the project was completed to an exceptional standard, delivered on time and within budget.

Chelmarsh SVR Track & Drainage

Chance Construction Ltd played a key role in the Chelmarsh track relay project for the Severn Valley Railway, supplying all machinery and labour to relay nearly a mile of railway track. This work was carried out in collaboration with SVR's Permanent Way (P-Way) department and dedicated volunteers.

In addition to track relaying, a new drainage system spanning over half a mile was installed. This high-flow twin-wall drainage system included catch pits positioned every 50 metres to facilitate easy maintenance.

The project was completed on schedule, meeting a tight deadline in alignment with the Severn Valley Railway's operating timetable. Having successfully delivered multiple track relay projects for SVR, all on time and within budget, Chance Construction Ltd was further entrusted with installing a new rubber railway crossing feature concrete ramps and a pedestrian walkway.

Comberton Primary School

Comberton Primary School contacted us with a request to expand their car park while also resurfacing the existing one.

Chance Construction Ltd promptly developed a plan to enlarge the parking area, which included the removal of several trees.

The project was carried out within a strict timeframe to coincide with the school holidays and was successfully completed on schedule and within budget.

GRP Roofing

This is one of many GRP roofing projects we have successfully completed, featuring an integrated roof light.

For over seven years, Chance Construction Ltd has installed numerous GRP roofs across a range of projects, from large pub roofs to multiple garage roofs. GRP is a highly durable and versatile material, making it ideal for balconies and roof access areas. It is the preferred flat roofing system for those seeking a high-quality, long-lasting solution.

New Build Bungalow Bewdley

New Build – Ongoing Project

Chance Construction Ltd was approached to take part in the construction of a spacious three-bedroom bungalow on the outskirts of the Wyre Forest. This impressive property features large bi-fold doors and vaulted ceilings, and we have been involved from the outset.

As the project has progresses, the client has requested layout modifications and additional structural work, including a bespoke drainage solution, which we designed and supplied. As with all our projects, we have maintained exceptional standards, resulting in a highly satisfied client.

Tenbury Wells Doctors Surgery

The Tenbury Doctors' surgery contacted Chance Construction ltd for solutions to maximise space, allowing for a new break room, kitchen, two treatment rooms, a meeting room, and additional storage.

We developed floor plans outlining internal modifications to accommodate the surgery's expanding needs. Once approved, the work was carried out in three phases to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.

The project involved renovating a previously disused wing, including the installation of a staircase to link floors and create a spacious break room and kitchen. The meeting room and treatment rooms were refurbished to clinical standards, with all work completed efficiently and without affecting the surgery's operations. The entire project, from design to execution was handled in-house.
